Paint This Town was ex-Fuse drummer Jake Blair's idea - he came in to practice with the main chord sequence and hook in his head. We developed it into a working instrumental as a band, before Jake and Alex finished the track in Jake's studio, with Alex writing the bulk of the melodies and lyrics, albeit referring his ideas to Jake as they occurred. Paint This Town is a classic Fuse track in this regard. Lyrically, the track remembers Alex and Jake's first stint in LA in 2007, which was one of the greatest times of their lives.
