Like Rainbows, about half of In This World was written in 2009/10 by Alex Lato. Like Rainbows, it was unearthed from Alex's phone archive. Alex developed the track, writing several new sections. The track was beautifully embroidered by the band, to become the song it is today. Additional strings were written by sometime Massive Attack string arranger Mike Jennings.

The lyrics reflect on the possibility of being able to start life from scratch, and use the impossibility of this concept to draw inspiration for the future. The song sees eternal possibility in life.
