About Black Lion:

The genesis of the track was Simon Bowker's brilliant guitar riff. Alex Lato took the riff and wrote the song around it, developing chord progressions for the middle 8 and the 'uh oh' section in between verses. Lyrically, the song is a metaphor for Alex's journey's in the music industry, and the highs and lows this has taken him to. The theme of the song is defiance - the Roman Soldier will never give up or bow down. Alex is an Italian speaker, which made the Roman imagery a no brainer.
